ALL ABOUT SUMMIT
Summit Counseling Group is a boutique psychotherapy practice that specializes in burnout prevention as well as the mental health component of managing chronic illness or challenging journeys with fertility. We help people to live happier & healthier lives that are more in accordance with their values. We engage individuals, couples, & families through 1:1 or group therapy to establish clear goals & realistic plans. Summit provides psychotherapy for mainly young professionals, entrepreneurs, individuals facing career transitions, & mental health/medical providers. Whether you just need a tune up for work-life balance, help with identifying your needs & boundary setting, support for self advocacy/effective communication, guidance in relationship management, or a fresh perspective on overall self care/productivity, we are happy to help!
Career Change & Burnout
If you feel burnt out & overwhelmed on a regular basis, you came to the right place. We will help you to employ skills & resources to enhance your productivity & reclaim your personal life. Our goal is to reduce the impact that stress can have so that you can get back to thriving & enjoying.
Entrepreneurs & healthcare providers face unique challenges with specific dynamic & demanding responsibilities. Our providers understand how imposter syndrome, resource limitations, toxic work environments, short runways, infuriating system inadequacies/inefficiencies, & unending pressure can impact the most important resource that makes all that hard work possible- passion. Summit can help to remove hurdles that stifle motivation & protect its vital role in your professional & personal journey.
FLEXIBILITY
Because Summit does not panel with insurance companies, we have the freedom to offer counseling sessions based upon clinical need, desire, & budget. If you require a half-hour check-in with your therapist or want to meet for two hours, either are possible. We charge by the quarter hour, so no need to justify services to insurance companies & wait for a response or a surprise bill. This also helps to achieve ultimate privacy. As we are an out-of-pocket clinic, we try to offer sliding scale options to those who cannot afford our full rates whenever possible.
What's Therapy Like?
Therapy sessions are designed to develop insight into personal values, goals, & habits related to behaviors, emotions, boundaries, relationships, resource management, & decision-making in order to provide effective coping tools that boost functionality. Just like learning a musical instrument, practice is key.
Once you & your therapist establish therapy goals (which often evolve over time) homework between sessions will help you to make progress as quickly & effectively as possible. Your therapist serves as your guide & accountability partner to help you through exposure, acceptance, & reflection in order to help you through tough times.
Summit employs the tenants of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) & integrative holistic approaches in order to develop life-changing habits for young adults, professionals, individuals with entrepreneurial pursuits, medical professionals, mental health professionals, & more.
INDIVIDUALIZED CARE
We are a boutique clinic that focuses on accessibility & efficient progress. Summit therapists often encourage homework exercises between sessions in order to practice the clinical approaches shared within the therapy room- this will help to make gains quickly. We also prioritize offering on-demand services whenever possible (for the emergencies in life).
"If you want something you've never had, you must be willing to do something you've never done." - Thomas Jefferson
ONE MORE THING...
All of Summit's therapists train extensively through DASC Academy. DASC consultation & continuing education topics include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure-Based therapies, & a weekly review of up to date evidence-based research. Summit's collaboration with DASC ensures patient access to well-trained & supported clinicians as well as a strong referral network.
